Reed grew up in Knoxville and attended the University of Tennessee, graduating with honors in Mechanical Engineering in 1979 and the University School of Law in 1981. He began his career as a State of Tennessee prosecutor in the Knox County District Attorney General’s Office, but has spent the majority of his tenure in private practice with primary areas of trial practice in insurance and criminal defense.
He has been practicing for over 32 years in Knox and surrounding counties and has tried hundreds of jury trials for individuals, corporate clients and major Insurance Companies. Reed is admitted to all Tennessee Trial Courts, the Tennessee Court of Appeals and the Tennessee Supreme Court, as well as being admitted to 6th Circuit Federal Courts. He is a member of the Knoxville and Tennessee Bar Associations as well as invited to join and inducted into the Horace Hamilton Inns of Court.
